B. Objective of the initiative
Codefor.pt aims to promote open and transparent participation in digital citizenship, public technology, open data, and open source projects.
The goal is to involve citizens, organizations, and social agents in defining, debating, evaluating, prioritizing, and monitoring policies, tools, and actions related to the common good and the development of software and public data.
Codefor.pt embraces a vision of participatory, collaborative, and deliberative democracy, encouraging individual and collective initiatives that contribute to the debate, design, evaluation, and continuous improvement of projects of public interest.
It also aims to highlight processes that take place inside and outside the platform, reinforcing the transparency of decisions and community contributions.
C. General conditions for participation
Anyone who creates an account or uses existing access credentials in areas of the Codefor.pt ecosystem can participate.
Users agree to use the platform diligently and in accordance with its purpose: to improve the public digital ecosystem, strengthen open government, and participate in collaborative processes.
Codefor.pt is not responsible for the misuse of the platform or for the content produced by users. Each user is responsible for the legality and appropriateness of their contributions.
It is not permitted to publish content that:
is false, misleading, or defamatory;
violates intellectual or industrial property rights;
discloses personal data of third parties without authorization (names, addresses, contacts, photographs, etc.);
contains viruses, malware, botnets, harmful scripts, or attempts to circumvent security measures;
constitutes spam, system overload, or manipulation of participatory processes;
contains advertising or commercial purposes, except in areas specifically created for this purpose;
is offensive, discriminatory, violent, sexual, insulting, or violates the Codefor.pt Code of Conduct;
violates any applicable law;
attempts to manipulate votes, polls, or debates;
creates multiple accounts with the intention of simulating different identities (astroturfing).
Codefor.pt may remove content that violates these Terms, as well as suspend or deactivate accounts without prior notice in cases of serious non-compliance.
The user is responsible for their contributions and for any damages caused to third parties.
External links published by users are their responsibility — Codefor.pt assumes no responsibility for the content of external sites.
In disputes between users or between users and third parties, Codefor.pt is not a party and assumes no responsibility for damages resulting from such conflicts.
D. How the platform works
Navigation can be done freely and anonymously.
To participate—comment, propose, support, vote—you must create an account and accept the Terms.
Registration requires: username, email, password, and acceptance of these Terms.
