B. Objective of the Initiative
Codefor.pt aims to promote open and transparent participation in projects related to digital citizenship, public technology, open data, and open source.
The goal is to engage citizens, organizations, and social actors in defining, debating, evaluating, prioritizing, and monitoring policies, tools, and actions related to the common good and the development of software and public data.
Codefor.pt embraces a vision of participatory, collaborative, and deliberative democracy, encouraging individual and collective initiatives that contribute to the debate, design, evaluation, and continuous improvement of projects of public interest.
The aim is also to highlight processes that take place both within and outside the platform, thereby enhancing the transparency of decisions and community contributions.
C. General Terms and Conditions of Participation
Anyone can participate by creating an account or using existing login credentials in areas of the Codefor.pt ecosystem.
Users agree to use the platform diligently and in accordance with its purpose: to improve the public digital ecosystem, strengthen open government, and participate in collaborative processes.
Codefor.pt is not responsible for any misuse of the platform or for content produced by users. Each user is responsible for the legality and appropriateness of their contributions.
It is not permitted to publish content that:
is false, misleading, or defamatory;
infringe intellectual or industrial property rights;
discloses third-party personal data without authorization (names, addresses, contact information, photographs, etc.);
contains viruses, malware, botnets, harmful scripts, or attempts to circumvent security measures;
constitutes spam, system overload, or manipulation of participatory processes;
contains advertising or is for commercial purposes, except in areas specifically created for that purpose;
be offensive, discriminatory, violent, sexual, or insulting, or violate the Codefor.pt Code of Conduct;
violates any applicable law;
attempt to manipulate votes, polls, or debates;
create multiple accounts with the intent to simulate different identities (astroturfing).
Codefor.pt may remove content that violates these Terms, as well as suspend or deactivate accounts without prior notice in cases of serious noncompliance.
The user is responsible for their contributions and for any damages caused to third parties.
External links posted by users are their sole responsibility—Codefor.pt assumes no responsibility for the content of external websites.
In disputes between users or between users and third parties, Codefor.pt is not a party to the dispute and assumes no liability for damages resulting from such conflicts.
